Holiday Marketing Campaigns: Are You Prepared for What’s Around the Corner?

If there’s any time to dream up a theme for your marketing, it’s NOW, before the holidays hit. Yes, we’re only just approaching fall… but before you know it, the malls will be decked with holly and teeming with Santa Clauses. Are you prepared for the deluge of competition?

Large corporations begin planning for their holiday campaign launches in the thick of summer!

Here’s a Christmas toy catalog cover that I worked on “back in the day.” I’m quite certain that the air conditioning in my cubicle was kicking when I wrote this.

Your holiday marketing event needn’t be an expensive or time-consuming affair. With a little creative input from you, Wordfeeder.com can help you launch a holiday campaign like this to drive more business in December!

So, the holiday season looms, and with competition fierce in a tough economy, it’s time to get out there, get known, and get more clients. Here are some holiday ideas you can implement in a hurry…………

Holiday Marketing Ideas for Your Web Business

1. Do an “End of Year” or Winter Event like the auto dealers do. It doesn’t have to be terribly complicated. Just spend an hour or two brainstorming a promo and add a holiday theme.

2. Whip up a few festive graphics using the design program you’re most comfortable with - or pay a professional graphic artist a few hours of labor to do it for you. Be sure to include the official name of the event and the name of your Web site so people know where this fanfare is coming from.

3. Coordinate the event with a giveaway that offers value to your customers. You can make it a tutorial, offer free space for them to advertise, hand out coupons, run a month-long podcast, do a month of guest interviews, free teleclass, syndicate an old info product of yours, group coach for a reduced price point… whatever can be accomplished at a low cost and in a hurry.

4. Throw a party on your blog. Add some of the aforementioned graphics and announce the event. Maybe even crank things up with Christmas music, party tunes or other toe-tappers that fit your target audience. Send out blog alerts so folks don’t turn their heads and end up missing something.

5. Give thanks to those who have aided you on the path to success. Remember to appreciate your customers, collaborative partners, referrers, mentors, service providers, advice-givers, and even people who just took a moment to stop by and leave their mark on your blog. Hire a VA to help you send Christmas cards, either electronically or via the post office.

6. Alert the press. Get people talking about whatever’s happening in your corner of the world. Write a press release (or hire someone to write it for you) and spring for mass distribution via PRWeb.com or another leading newswire.

It’s entirely possible that after all this effort, your December sales actually don’t crest as high as you would have wanted or expected. Remember that marketing has long-term, slow-growth effects. Be generous with your time and knowledge today, and you can bet that your name will be on everyone’s minds down the road. Word gets around. Take advantage and be noticed this holiday season.

I know people who can make plans like these happen for you.
